If you’re like many agents, you create a to-do list every day, or nearly every day. You may secretly pat yourself on the back with each item you cross off. However, if it seems as though your list is getting longer and you’re crossing off fewer things, it’s time make your list work for you. Here are three ways to get control of your to-do list.
1. Prioritize your day. Organizing your tasks is much easier when you have your priorities straight. That is, you’re able to spend your time on the things that matter, such as making those calls, writing notes and delivering the Pop-Bys that build relationships with your clients and lead to more referrals.
Referral Maker™ real estate CRM software helps you stay organized and track your activities. Just input your goals for your business and Referral Maker will create a list of lead generating activities for you to complete every day. You can add your own activities, such as sending your real estate marketing items, to the list as well.
2. Plan the night before. For many of us, the morning is the most productive time of day. Don’t waste your productive time creating your to-do list. Instead, write down your list the night before, or before you leave the office. That way, you’re ready to go before you even turn on your computer.
3. Evaluate. Writing down the activities you’d like to complete is a start; however, it won’t, in itself, make you more productive. Instead, evaluate how you’re spending your day. Is your list full of little activities that you could have your assistant do? Does your list include tasks that you’ve postponed several times? If you feel like you’re not accomplishing anything on your to-do list, take stock in how you’re spending your time each day. Once you see and understand how you’re spending your day, you can understand why you’re not getting to the important tasks on your list and take steps to improve.
