5 Ways to Get the Most Out of a Real Estate Training Event

Seminars are a great way to expand your knowledge, reignite your passion for real estate and network with other high-achieving real estate professionals. A part of personal development, real estate events and workshops provide you with additional training so that you can stay on top of your game and better serve your buyers and sellers at every stage of the real estate process. Whether you have a seminar coming up or you’re thinking of attending one in the near future, here are a few tips to help you optimize your experience.

Learn about the presenters. This may seem obvious, but it’s always a good idea to read up on the people who will be presenting information at the seminar. Read the bio on their websites, read the books they’ve published, watch their videos and subscribe to their newsletters.

Arrive early so that you can get a good seat. You don’t have to be front-and-center; however, a seat where you have a clear view of the stage and presenter is important, especially if you’re easily distracted.

Prepare to learn. New information requires an open mind. Be prepared to gain knowledge, expand your perceptions and think critically about the information you learn.

Take notes. While you may think that you’ll be able to remember everything that was said, memory has a funny way of failing us when we need it most. Notes allow you to refer back to the information at a later date (even if that ‘later date’ is later that evening!).

Bring plenty of business cards for networking. Seminars are a great way to meet other driven real estate professionals. Real estate is a social profession, so make sure you carry plenty of business cards with you so that you can exchange information with the agents and brokers you meet.
