Longer, sunnier days and the warm temperatures of spring are just around the corner, making many of us antsy to get outside and enjoy it. Even if you’re busy, it’s important to schedule time to get outside and enjoy nature. Studies show that spending time outside is vital for your overall health and well-being. You don’t have to plan a trip to the nearest mountain range or forest to reap the benefits of nature. Something as simple as a short walk outside can help you clear your head so that you can tackle the next task with renewed energy and focus, not to mention the important benefits that moving has on your body. Here are a few ways to spend more time outdoors during your day.

Schedule it in. Many of us won’t remember to do something unless we plan it in our schedules. Plan to take a walk after you finish your power hour in the morning, after you complete your lead generation for the day or during lunch. Remember, twenty minutes outside in the sunshine and fresh air can do wonders to change your disposition. Think before your park. Instead of cruising around the parking lot in search of a spot near the door, park further away.  The exercise will do you good as will extra vitamin D. And, you may even feel less frustrated since you didn’t have to compete for a spot. Just be sure to park under the light for additional safety.

Eat lunch outside. How many times have you eaten lunch hunched over your desk? Find a park nearby and eat lunch there. Not only will you be able to enjoy the weather, but it also provides an opportunity for great people-watching as well.

Whether you live in a city or a rural area, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Make a plan to do it today and watch your health and productivity soar!
